Blue

Ever have one of those days where you just feel... off? No matter what you do or try to change your attitude all you want to do is mope, feel sorry for yourself or just burst into tears.

Today is one of those days.

Maybe it is because I am trying to survive on only 4 hours of sleep. Maybe I am trying to hard to think and say everything is ok. Or maybe it is because the elastic shot in my pantyhose (name that movie).

So why am I sitting her moping and blogging about it? Hmm that is a good question.

I think I will go out and enjoy the sun.

I love to see the Temple

I went to the Draper Temple Open House on Friday with my family. It was so beautiful. If you have gone, you probably already know what I am going to say was my favorite room. The Celestial Room was gorgeous. The chandelier was absolutely breath taking.

It was amazing as you were walking down the tent covered hall and there is noise and some talking, but once you walk through the temple doors almost complete silence.

It was a great night as well, because some of the people helping were from my singles ward, their stake was helping that night. I was able to hear a message from President Dahl & his wife, in one of the sealing rooms.

The time we got there, it was too dark to take any pictures. I will have to go up there again when it's lighter.

I am so grateful for the temple and the peace it brings to me.

All the single ladies...

..and gents...Happy Single Awareness Day! I say this NOT out of jealousy for those of you who are reading this, that have a significant other to love. But, there is nothing like a holiday to let you know just how single you are. Again... this is not coming out of jealousy or bitterness... (my 10 cats will agree with me here*).

I will turn this into reflecting moment. (So it doesn't sound like I need to get out of the bitter barn and play in the hay.)

Valentine's Day, when you were younger, was so much fun. Making your valentine boxes to take to elementary school. A Payless shoe box, decorated in tin foil, construction paper and paper heart doilies.

Making sugar cookies with my brother and sisters and being able to decorate with icing, red hots and conversation hearts (the yellow ones are the best!) the HUGE cookie we would give to our
teachers.

I miss the days of "door ditching", where you leave your Valentine on your friends doorstep ring the doorbell and run. I remember asking my aunt when her kids were younger if they were going to do that, and she had no idea what I was talking about. Was this just a White City thing?

Tonight I will probably get a pizza, curl up and watch a good, heart warming Hallmark movie.

Happy Valentine's or Happy Single Awareness Day to all!!
* disclosure - I do not own 1 cat let alone a plethora (would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?) of cats to equal 10.
